What’s happening in Hutton Play Park?
Residents of Hutton may have noticed unusual activity at the park. The Community Council are pleased to announce that refurbishment was completed during September/October. A team from Scottish Borders Council power-washed and repainted all the metal equipment (swings, climbing frames, slides etc).
In addition a team of volunteers have spruced up all the wooden equipment and the fence. The fence is a bit shoogly but we’re hopeful a coat of preservative will extend its life until it is replaced.
We’d like give our sincere thanks to the Fab Four volunteers for their hard work: Billy and Daryn with their ingenuous solutions and Shirley and Dave for working apace so that the whole job was completed in a morning. We’re grateful to Alan for putting up the ‘wet paint’ signs we’d all forgotten about. Fantastic teamwork resulted in a remarkable improvement and that’s before the SBC team got started on the swings etc!

The park will be completely replaced in 2028/29 so this refurbishment is a temporary fix in the meantime to make the park more appealing to all who use it. We hope you’ll agree that the Hutton team did great work – of course the cream cakes helped!
