Changes to the Constitution of our Community Council

The Scottish Borders Council Community Council Scheme outlines the regulations Community Councils in the Scottish Borders must follow. The Community Council constitution is based on this ‘scheme’.

A working group consisting of Elected Councillors and Community Councils was formed to review the current Scheme for Community Councils within the Scottish Borders Area.  On 19 December 2024, the Scottish Borders Council agreed that the draft Scheme and Handbook should proceed to Public Consultation. The consultation concludes on Wednesday, 23 April 2025, at 5 pm.
